Governor Mimiko the outgoing governor of Ondo state and others commissioned N538million meat abattoir project in Ondo state:
A newly, inaugurated , modern and mechanized abattoir project built by the outgoing governor Dr. Olusegun mimiko was yesterday commissioned in Akure the state capital of Ondo state.
A project which cost the government of Ondo state about N538million. The project began in 1983 and it was later abandoned but was re-awarded in the year 2011. The project was executed to curb the supply of unhygienic meat also in an unhygienic environment, Governor Mimiko said.
During the inauguration Minister Audu Ogbeh, represented by Mrs. Funke Omogbemi.
Enjoined other states in the country to emulate Ondo state. Minister Audu Ogbe wrote in a goodwill message read by Mrs. Funke Omogbemi.
according to the minister ” this infrastructure will no doubt hold the key in the provision of hygienic processed meat which will enhance good and healthy eating habits, job opportunities for those who will be directly involved as well as other markets which it’s presence will attract and develop “.
Other speakers at the inauguration lauded the government of Ondo state for the successful completion of the project. The newly inaugurated mechanized abattoir was tested with a cattle to see how the system works.
