The curry powder is a mixed spice condiment used when preparing meals. It originated from South Asia. The word ‘Curry’ is derived from a Tamil word ‘Kari’ which means sauce, the curry is a spice blended with key ingredients like ginger, garlic and turmeric for about 4,000 years ago.
However, the chilli pepper was introduced to the curry powder in the 16th century. Other ingredients that were introduced include-: coriander, cumin, fenugreek, cinnamon, fennel seed, cayenne, nutmeg, black pepper, and many more.
